Two Lovely Headbands

Hi everyone!

When I was trying to come up with ideas for my friends' Christmas presents, I finally decided on making a couple of headbands. I had never done any with elastic before, but I think they turned out really cute! Now I want to make one for myself!(: These were inspired by a tutorial on Alisa Burke's blog. I really loved the beads in the middle, and the idea of using ribbon. And so, almost immediately after reading her post, I made these two beauties:

Thing 1:

& Thing 2:

The glue was still wet on this one! I was so paranoid that the beads would start falling off that I really went crazy with the glue. XD

But these are so cute and simple! And you don't have to do it with elastic either...any kind of headband or hair accessory would work. I don't really care for elastic headbands because they always slip off of my head, no matter how tight or loose they are, even if they do look very cute.

Have a lovely day!

Christmas Ornaments Part 1

Hi everyone!

Ready for another Christmas post?(:

Anyway, when I first decided I was going to do the whole handmade Christmas thing, I had a hard time coming up with ideas. Then this picture was featured on :

& I thought they were too cute! They were simple, but very sweet. So I decided I had to make some up for Christmas presents. Here's my first:

Here's my second:

This is actually my favorite out of all the ones that I made. It's bright and cheery, and the red and green make it perfect for Christmas.

Then I made five other ornaments...three of which I will show you in part two!(:

Have a lovely day!

Cute Christmas Cards

Hey everyone,

I don't know if I mentioned it, but this year, I decided to have a completely handmade Christmas (that's code for I was too broke to buy anything...). Anyway, it actually turned out really well. I don't know about you, but there have been times that my handmade gifts have completely backfired on me. This, however, was not one of those times (score!). Anyway, I've taken pictures of most of them, and I'll be showing them off in the next few posts. So stay tuned! Each post will get better and better...

It wasn't until I actually made a list of all that I made that I realized just how much I made in less than a month. It's pretty crazy, but seriously, if I were to just blog about one thing a day, it would probably last me an entire month. BUT I'm going to group things together.(: So it won't take that long, and then I'll move on to more current projects.

Anyway, I made some cute mixed-media cards for friends and family, and here are two of my favorites:

A Christmas penguin:

And a very Valentine-like pink one:

Aren't they sweet? And so quick and easy to make, too.

Did you make any of your gifts this year?(:

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year, everyone! I'm sorry it's been so long since I last posted..I've been busy! But I'm eager to share all the things I've made recently with you. Anyway, it's just after midnight, and as I'm writing this I can hear the neighbors setting off their fireworks as a sort of background music for my official New Year's soundtrack (every year, I choose a special song to bring in the new year with..my own little tradition). My sister and I just finished watching the New Year's episode of an old show called "Your Hit Parade," which is one of my new favorites because it has great music and dancing. I thought I would share it with you:

Well, that's how I brought in the new year...what about you?(:

Here' s to this year being just as wonderful as the last! Happy 2011!!
